Padma Awards On the eve of 72nd Republic Day

On the eve of 72nd Republic Day, Government announced the Padma Awards. Seven persons will get Padma Vibhushan. They include former Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, sculptor Sudarshan Sahoo and Islamic scholar Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. TN government has granted permission to hold jallikattu

The Tamil Nadu government has granted permission to hold jallikattu, the popular bull taming sport, next year with certain restrictions.

An official press release said that bull taming sports like jallikattu, manjuvirattu and vadamadu would be permitted with a maximum of 300 tamers.

A maximum of 150 racers will be allowed in the traditional bull race of erudhu vidum vizha across the state.

The traditional events are held between January and May.

Railways aims to finalise the final plan by January 2021

National Rail Plan: In an endeavour to address the inadequacies of capacity constraints and improve its modal share in total freight eco system of the country, Indian Railways has come up with a Draft National Rail Plan.

A long term strategic plan called the National Rail Plan has been developed to plan infrastructural capacity enhancement along with strategies to increase modal share of the Railways.

It will be a common platform for all future infrastructural, business and financial planning of the Railways.

Government of India and World Bank signed

Government of India and World Bank signed 400 million dollar project to protect India’s poor and vulnerable from the impact of COVID-19.

Finance Ministry said, this is the second operation in a programmatic series of two.

first operation of 750 million dollar was approved in May 2020.
